Frequently Asked Questions

We know it can be a little unnerving to step into a new thing, especially when you're not sure what to expect. We want your first visit with us to be comfortable, almost like visiting family. In fact, that's what we'd like you to be...a member of our church family! If you still have questions just give us a call, we're more than happy to answer them.

What should I wear? You're welcome to wear whatever you'd like. You'll see people in jeans and T-shirts sitting next to people with suits and ties. We want you to be you. There is no set dress code, although the attire is more on the casual side.

What does the church look like? Stateline is housed in a diesel garage that's been cleaned, tweaked, and decorated... but, it still looks like a garage (only much, MUCH cleaner)! In the worship area you'll see the set-up for our worship band up front, a projection screen, chairs, and the sound system and controls in the back area. There are also two video cameras for taping our service to be shown on the local cable channel later in the week. There are a few tables in back with coffee and snacks for all.

What will the service be like? When you arrive you'll be greeted at the door by many warm smiles and friendly handshakes. You'll be given a bulletin and a nametag. Feel free to get a cup of coffee. You'll probably hear music you've heard before--old hymns and many newer contemporary songs. The words to every song are shown on the projection screen up front. You'll hear a message that's relevant to your life right now. The pastors will encourage you to sit or stand at different times during worship but will also encourage you to do what is comfortable for you. There will be a collection taken for the tithes and offerings of our members and regular attenders. As our guests, please don't feel obligated to contribute. When 'church' is over, please stay for cookies and let us get to know who you are.

Will I be asked to sign anything? No. Although, if you're comfortable, we would like for you to fill out a visitors card so we'll know that you came. Don't worry, we won't be knocking on your front door...that is, unless YOU ask us to!

What about my kids? There's a nursery for babies and toddlers and someone will help you get them signed in and settled. For the older kids, ages 3 to 12 there is children's church that begins midway through our service, so keep them with you until pastor dismisses them.

Is this a Christian church? Yes, although the place does look a little different from most other churches on the outside, inside you'll find we do have a definite set of Bible-based beliefs. Click here for What We Believe.

Where is your church? It couldn't be easier to find us. We're on the west side of Highway 11 between Milton-Freewater and Walla Walla. Just south of the Oregon / Washington border and just north of Wilcox Furniture store. Our address is 85440 Hwy 11, Milton-Freewater.

What if I still have questions? Call us! (541-938-7552) We'd love to help make your first visit with us as comfortable as we can. We want you to keep coming back!
